Jazz

When we first moved to Vegas, a lot of people asked me what sort of dog I had when they saw our girl. Not just because of the way she looked, but because of her temperament.

After so many inquiries, we ended up just telling everybody she was a Doberoo (a cross between a doberman and a kangaroo). Its amazing how many people actually believed us.

You see, in Australia, it is no longer legal to crop and dock. So to the average american, she looks rather unusual when they are not used to it.

Our Jazzy Girl

Even though Jazzy has an excellent pedigree, and is the epitome of the doberman standard, I decided not to show her in Australia. That was my choice, due to my health, my baby, and my business. I also wanted Jazzy to be trained for family only.

When we got to the states, I realized that this is what I should have done, and enquired here. However, she is at a bit of a disadvantage now due to her "natural" looks. So, she's not going to the show ring - ever.

She has had all her health tests done - hips, thyroid, heart, vWd (carrier), along with DNA to the AKC due to the fact she is an export dog.

I had her viewed by two breeders who confirmed her quality, and both offered to stud their dogs to me. We, obviously chose the most compatible.

I mainly wanted to write about her temperament with kids. Everyone loves having dogs that are great with kids, but generally it is with your own kids, Jazz, although closer to our own kids, is brilliant with all of them. She behaves perfectly, understands age differences, and if an unfamiliar person approaches any children, she will stand "on guard" without looking threatening.

I am hoping that most of Jazzys pups do go to homes with children. You could not ask for a more compatible dog for family life than a doberman.
